Climate finance: record €11.8 billion from Germany

A record sum from Germany for the global climate

Maurice Forgeng, EPOCH TIMES

In 2024, Germany spent €11.8 billion on international climate protection, more than ever before. Of this, €6.1 billion came from state budget funds, around 400 million more than in the previous year. In addition, more than one billion euros from private funds were mobilised for the first time to promote climate projects worldwide.

The German federal government thus emphasises its responsibility towards the Global South and underlines its role as a reliable partner ahead of the upcoming World Climate Conference in Brazil. The figures, compiled according to international standards and reported to the EU Commission, show that Germany has not only met but even exceeded its commitments in international climate finance.
