Cookie policy (EU)
This page lists what gaia-energy.org stores on your device. The list is complete — we set nothing beyond what is listed here.
This English version is provided for information. Only the German version is legally binding.
What we store
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Ireland Limited | Distinguishes returning visits from new ones | 2 years |
_ga_NX127RT5YP | Google Ireland Limited | Keeps the session state for audience measurement | 2 years |
gaia-messung-v1 | GAIA (not a cookie, local storage) | Remembers your choice on the cookie notice so that we do not ask again | until deleted in the browser |
The two _ga entries belong to Google Analytics 4 and are used
exclusively for audience measurement: we want to know which posts are
read. We do not show advertising, and the advertising features of
Google Analytics are explicitly switched off. Details — which data is
processed, on what legal basis and how transfers to the USA are
handled — can be found in the privacy policy.
The gaia-messung-v1 entry is not a cookie but sits in the browser’s
local storage. It is never transmitted to us or to third parties and
contains just one word: whether you agreed to or objected to measurement.
Switching off measurement
The Cookie settings link at the very bottom of every page reopens the notice so you can change your decision. An objection takes effect immediately: measurement in progress is stopped, and on further visits Google Analytics is no longer loaded at all.
If your browser signals “Global Privacy Control” or “Do Not Track”, we treat this as an objection and do not measure, without asking further.
You can also delete _ga cookies that have already been set at any time in
your browser settings. How to get there differs from browser to browser;
the respective manufacturer’s help pages describe it.
Technically necessary cookies
The public platform sets none. The members’ portal and the board cockpit are on separate addresses and need a session cookie for logging in — this only affects those who log in there and is essential for operating those areas.
