Obituary for the Norischer Verlag
After a short, serious illness, the owner and founder
of the Norischer Verlag, Roland Kreisel, died on 3 June 2021 at the age of 52. We want to keep his work accessible to those interested.
Over the years, Roland Kreisel painstakingly gathered and catalogued knowledge about Celtic culture and its traces in Austria and published it at the Norischer Verlag under the label “Nemeton Eula”. Celtic culture goes back to around 500 BCE and ends around the 11th century. Roland Kreisel tried to make these 1,600 years of culture accessible and understandable through traces that still exist today.
Titles from the Norischer Verlag (German)
Reference works such as Indoeuropäische Literaturgeschichte (Indo-European literary history), Grundlagen keltischer Kultur (Foundations of Celtic culture) or Austria Celticum came out of this work (all in German). Exploration tours through the Waldviertel and Weinviertel and interviews with renowned historians were filmed in the 360-minute DVD trilogy “Die norische Kultur” (Noric culture). His magazine “Dualchas” also found many followers. All 16 issues have been added as eBooks to the members’ area of the Society for Self-Sufficiency (GAIA).
On the GAIA marketplace we have taken over the entire remaining stock and offer special conditions on available items. In a next step, we want to establish the eBook format wherever possible. The DVD productions have already been digitised. They are offered as DVDs while stocks last and as MP4 videos for download.
In this way we preserve his work for all friends of Celtic history.
Or, as Roland liked to put it:
Everyone should know this early European high culture. The typical school textbook does not give a comprehensive overview of this prehistory. For me, it is shaped rather by the content that people today are only supposed to know.
