Fantastic news! This season we are once again offering the delicious Orri mandarins. Orri mandarins are a cross bred from the Orah variety. They are known for their unique taste with the perfect balance between sweetness and acidity and for their juicy, fleshy texture. They also have a thin peel, are easy to peel, large and uniform in shape, and have practically no seeds.

What is special about Orri mandarins?

Orri mandarins have won numerous awards for their exceptional taste, including the prize for the best orange at the Fruit Attraction trade fair in Madrid and the “Superior Taste Award” of the “International Taste Institute (ITI)” in Brussels, both in 2023.

The downside: the price

Because of the high production costs and the exclusivity of the Orri variety, we are unfortunately forced to offer them at a slightly higher price than our other conventional mandarin varieties. But we are sure that their taste and quality will win you over.

Joint ordering through (supra-)regional supply

On a voluntary basis, we are building alternatives to the existing corporate and industrial supply chain:

Get in touch

People in a region join forces, record their needs for goods and services (monthly, for example) and agree their requirements with ethically operating producers, traders and service providers, with call-offs that are as even as possible and optimised for transport.

We then order for many people on a single customer account and have the orders delivered directly to you or to the regions, where they are distributed further. This means less work for the supplier, who has only one customer account to manage and fewer invoices, but a larger order volume. In the regions, people come together, talk to each other again and, by pooling small separate orders, also enjoy better prices per kilo (for example with 20 kg packs).

In the 2022/2023 season we ordered a tonne of citrus fruit from “Orangen frisch nach Hause” in this way and were rewarded at the end of the season with a 5% discount on all orders.

Exact availability, prices, varieties and shipping information can be found in the product overview. As part of the (supra-)regional supply project we can offer the prices direct from the plantation at a slight discount, with no delay and direct delivery to you.

Product overview

For years we have pointed to direct shipping from Ruth Palomero’s plantation in València, Spain. Depending on the season, you can order oranges, tomatoes, lemons, mandarins or avocados there directly from the plantation by parcel service, without intermediaries. It hardly gets fresher or more convenient. We have no financial interest in orders; we simply like to recommend it.
