Artificial intelligence and its paradoxical conflict

AI models, so-called “artificial intelligences”, are caught in a paradoxical conflict: they are “intelligent” enough to understand and generate language, but they lack independent consciousness or critical judgement. They can simulate thinking – but not really think. This field of tension is the key to our topic: the limits of automatic intelligence in digital discourse.
