Austrian Water Protection Watch

The Austrian Water Protection Watch (Österreichische Wasserschutzwacht) has been working for the environment since 1972.

The services of the ÖWSW, which is organised as a non-profit association, are aimed above all at private well owners, water associations, municipalities and citizens’ initiatives throughout Lower Austria.

The ÖWSW offers, for example, first aid for all kinds of water problems, well consultancy, well rehabilitation, drinking water testing, pond consultancy, measurement of earth radiation and water veins, as well as river and stream surveys. The association also provides reliable advice on building, operating and maintaining ecological reed-bed sewage treatment systems.

A new board was elected at the ÖWSW on 22 March 2018.

We are pleased to announce that gottfried herrmann has been elected to the board as deputy chairman. His work and his name are well known to many GAIA members. As a board member of the ÖWSW, gottfried is now focusing above all on two points:

• Fundamental education about “clean water” (drinking water and waste water)
• Self-sufficiency in drinking water, in a nutshell: “your own well on your own land”

For many years gottfried has been campaigning on a voluntary basis for an alternative way of life. Since then he has tirelessly travelled the whole country to bring people closer to alternatives in many areas of life. His election to the board of the ÖWSW is another milestone in his educational work.

Feel free to contact him with questions about water, wells or the ÖWSW. This offer applies to anyone who is interested – regardless of region. Only the association’s own field of activity is limited to Lower Austria.
