HHO cell lent out for 8 weeks

HHO cell lent out for 8 weeks

Things recently turned out very differently than planned for the owner of a GAIA HHO cell.

A member passed on to us a case whose development disappoints us, because this is not how it should be. The goodwill shown in lending out a fully automatic GAIA HHO cell was bitterly disappointed – and in the end considerable damage was done.

We received the following information from Germany:

The HHO cell before it was lent outIn July 2016 I lent one of my two fully automatic GAIA HHO cells to Norbert, a fellow member of the association in Germany. He had asked to borrow the cell. As I had already carried out successful tests with the cell myself, I could understand his wish and agreed. This way he, too, could carry out HHO test series that were important for his project. He knew that the cell had previously stood idle for about a year and that its tightness would need checking. He collected it with a delivery note and the agreement to take out suitable insurance for the loan period.

Shortly afterwards I heard that a few small parts (valves) were defective, and I put him in touch with Christoph Beiser for replacements. All in all, this meant a small three-figure investment for Norbert.

Getting the cell back turned out to be the big investment – at least in time. I personally had no idea where the cell was located. All I knew was: somewhere in northern Germany. So from winter 2017 onwards I tried to stay in touch and asked for it to be returned. We actually had to negotiate about it. It was difficult to get hold of Norbert or to speak to him.

Now, 18 months later and after countless attempts, I finally received the location of my cell and had it collected last week at my own expense. What I got back shocks me. See for yourselves:

Why am I writing this to you? Because it was my goodwill to offer someone help, and I am genuinely shocked at how the cell was stored and treated, how little this loan was valued, and how much effort I would now have to put into repairing it.

GAIA is also a community of HHO enthusiasts. We value exchange among ourselves and mutual support alike. However, we regard the course of this loan as a shameful example, and we are trying to help with the rebuild.
