Hydrogen peroxide – a substitute for petrol and diesel?
If the people of Zwickau have their way, hydrogen peroxide will soon complement diesel, petrol and electric drives.
Supported by the media and government agencies, young entrepreneurs are currently developing an alternative drive concept based on H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide) – in Zwickau, the cradle of German motoring. The idea is not entirely new and more attractive than ever.
“The aim of our start-up is to develop alternative drives that can be operated without emitting harmful exhaust gases.
This is initially to be achieved by developing a new type of vehicle drive in the form of a multistage turbine. The familiar advantages of the combustion engine are to be retained, for example quick refuelling of the vehicle at conventional filling stations and long ranges.
The turbine unit is being designed so that it can be integrated into all vehicles and machines – including a DeLorean, which, as science fiction fans, we imported from the USA especially for this purpose.” – this is how the two entrepreneurs Max Michael and Lukas Basan describe their idea.
