ÖVR News August 2026: E-Cat presentation announced for January 2027
The August issue of the ÖVR News from the Österreichische Vereinigung für Raumenergie (Austrian Association for Space Energy, ÖVR) reports on new developments around the E-Cat, on experiments and inventors, and on the forthcoming anniversary congress. The following information comes from the latest newsletter:
E-Cat: presentation planned for January 2027
According to Andrea Rossi, the global presentation of the E-Cat is to take place on 27 January 2027. He says licensees are currently testing the self-sustaining mode (SSM) of the small 100-watt units. Rossi puts the chance that the technology will be presented in January at about 85 per cent. Asked in the Journal of Nuclear Physics, he stated on 20 August 2026 that the latest SSM version had been running without interruption for three to six months. The ÖVR refers to an interview from 4 July 2026:
Inventors and experiments
The newsletter introduces Rick Friedrich from the USA who, according to the ÖVR, has been building free energy technologies for about two decades and previously worked with the inventor Bedini. Around 2010, it says, he converted a Porsche 911 to run purely on electricity with constantly rechargeable batteries.
At this year’s congress in Fellbach near Stuttgart, the ÖVR filmed an experiment with Dr Florian König, who recreates an old Bedini experiment to demonstrate a so-called over-unity effect.
The Casimir effect as a propulsion concept
In an ÖVR podcast for tinkerers, the author Gerd Fassbinder, together with an AI, outlines a rough propulsion concept based on the Casimir effect.
White noise and plant growth
Dr Fritz Florian and his wife, who will be speaking at the ÖVR congress, reported on the “Stadtgespräch” programme of Kanal3.tv in Judenburg that, according to their observations, plants such as cress grow faster and larger and live more than twice as long under the influence of cosmic white noise.
20 years of the ÖVR: anniversary congress
The ÖVR announces its anniversary congress marking 20 years of the association. The programme and registration can be found here:
The newsletter also points to an overview of the current state of space energy technologies:
Energy communities
As a news item, the newsletter mentions a report on futurezone.at about a father in Burgenland who passes solar power from his photovoltaic system on to his son in Vienna via an energy community.
