Scholé News – April 2025
Dear friends of Scholé,
“One cannot understand anything at all about modern civilisation unless one admits that it is a universal conspiracy against every kind of inner life,” wrote the French writer Georges Bernanos even before the Second World War. The guardian of this modern civilisation is science. Until recently it made sure that everything to do with inner life was dismissed as unscientific. Anyone interested in it was considered a dubious crank, a nutcase or an esotericist. But since the Covid crisis at the latest, the wind has noticeably begun to turn.
The audience is playing along less and less, and in the ranks of serious science, too, there are more and more dissidents who venture into previously taboo topics such as animal communication or telepathy. A dear friend recently sent me a link to a podcast series called THE TELEPATHY TAPES. The podcasts came about in the USA more or less by chance, through the meeting of a curious journalist with a fearless scientist who has been researching the behaviour of marginal groups away from the mainstream for 40 years.
A podcast breaks all records
From the very beginning, the neuroscientist Dr Diane Powell, trained at elite universities, had a hard time, because superiors and colleagues felt affronted by her revolutionary approaches. When she presented research results at a specialist congress that could not be explained in purely rational terms, her scientific career would very nearly have come to an abrupt end had she not been able to present watertight data. She was not deterred by this experience, but since then she has placed even greater value on solid data and evidence. Against all expectations, the documentation of her work by the journalist Ky Dickens spread like wildfire. For quite a while the podcasts even topped the charts, although the subject hardly suggested such success: it is about autistic children and young people who cannot speak.
Dr Diane Powell came across the hidden abilities of autistic people through her work with savants. Savants are people who are extremely gifted in a particular field – be it foreign languages, mathematics or drawing – while they often struggle to cope with everyday challenges. With an eye sharpened by her savant research, Dr Powell later also looked at non-speaking autistic people suffering from apraxia, a so far incurable coordination disorder of the brain. Was it not conceivable that even apparently “hopeless cases”, who remain at the level of toddlers both motorically and intellectually throughout their lives, are highly gifted in a field not yet researched?
Again and again, mothers came to her psychotherapy practice and told incredible things about their autistic sons and daughters: they would bring them objects or do things their mothers had just been thinking about. They would fall into inexplicable agitation long before some misfortune happened. Some mothers were convinced they could communicate non-verbally with their children who were unable to speak. Individual teachers from the institutions where such children are cared for also told Dr Powell about astonishing observations that simply did not fit the usual picture.
Thought transmission can be proven
A technical achievement made it possible to test what had until then been unprovable assumptions: large touchpads that are so easy to use that even people with severe motor disabilities can learn to tap specific letters or number symbols and so learn to spell. The first two episodes of the podcast series deal mainly with the question of how meticulously planned experimental set-ups can rule out that the test subjects cheat when spelling.
With a camera team, Ky Dickens, the creator of the podcasts, accompanied Dr Diane Powell to the families of autistic people in order to verify their telepathic abilities. What the journalist and the camera crew experienced changed their previous view of the world – and was soon to change the worldview of numerous listeners of their podcasts as well. On Spotify you can listen to the TELEPATHY TAPES series, which has now grown to 14 episodes, for yourselves.
Shielded from the distractions of “normal” speech, the autistic people who have their say for the first time in this series developed the ability – perhaps present in all humans – to communicate without words. Telepathy allows a much more comprehensive form of exchange than verbal communication, because the thoughts are charged with the feelings and sensory impressions of the sender and can be transmitted directly to the receiver. Moreover, telepathy works without restriction across borders of place and language; it even makes communication possible with animals, the deceased or beings from other dimensions.
Messages from a foreign world
It is deeply impressive to learn from the personal testimonies of young people who until now were locked up in their world, written off as sick, disabled, stupid and incapable, while in reality they perceive and know more than anyone would ever have credited them with. Through spelling they are now finally able to express their thoughts, feelings and needs in a way that even “normal” people can understand.
They say that they can “read” not only the thoughts of their mothers but also those of other people, and are even able to “read along” with others in films or books, as it were. Foreign languages pose no problem for them, since they receive and transmit not words but images and feelings. That some also communicate telepathically with animals, spirit beings or the deceased gives an idea of how vast the field of information is that opens up here.
What I found particularly moving was what several of the young autistic people reported, independently of one another, about an imaginary place called “the hill”. This hill is a kind of “virtual” meeting place for non-speaking autistic people, where they can get to know one another and share their experiences, even though they live far apart. One mother reports that on such occasions her son crawls into his bed, the blanket pulled over his head, so as not to be distracted by the outside world.
Rejection or enthusiasm?
Some therapists are pleasantly surprised when autistic patients can tell them themselves, via the spelling board, what treatment they need. Some teachers enthusiastically seize the opportunity to completely redesign their lessons with the help of spelling. In many special schools, however, spelling is rejected as unscientific and not tolerated! People refer to long-outdated studies and want nothing to do with new results. This would require a fundamental rethink, which the majority is unfortunately not yet ready for, as we know only too well from free learning…
On the imaginary hill, where the young autistic people have always shared their pain at the incomprehension of the world around them, they now share their joy about the creators of the podcasts and their many listeners, whom they can finally reach with their messages from a previously closed world. And from episode to episode it becomes ever clearer that these young people have obviously taken on an important mission: they have come into this cold, rational world as messengers of unconditional love!
Anyone who has ever witnessed up close what it means to be responsible for an autistic child knows that this task demands everything of the parents. Ideally they can understand it as a crash course in unconditional love! Therapists and educators who work professionally with autistic people get the chance to open their hearts and so establish a telepathic connection with their silent charges. As one of the autistic children in the podcast explains, LOVE is the only necessary precondition: only people who love one another can communicate telepathically!
Those who love do not lie
This fact has far-reaching consequences, because WHOEVER LOVES OTHERS DOES NOT LIE TO THEM! The most serious difference from our usual verbal communication, which can be so easily misused and so often leads to misunderstandings, is therefore that people can transmit the truth and nothing but the truth by telepathic means! Since both sending and receiving only work in a state of love, telepathic communication would be the ideal means of understanding in a world beyond lies, fraud and propaganda. A world of love and peace, a world of free cooperation between people of all nations, classes and ages, who can communicate not only with one another but also with animals, the deceased, spirits and nature beings.
Isn’t it remarkable that the realisation of this vision has begun precisely with non-speaking autistic people? As we were told 2,000 years ago: the last shall be first. When you think about it, we “normal” people are for the most part still non-speaking autistics ourselves…
Spring greetings, Alexandra

2nd edition of “Lernen ist wie Atmen” (Learning is like breathing)

The 2nd edition of our book meets a completely changed readership.
In 2017, the idea that learning outside school was possible at all was considered the eccentric notion of a few outsiders. Since then, all parents, whether they wanted to or not, have had to deal with forms of learning outside school.
The number of children withdrawn from school has exploded since then, and alternative learning projects are springing up like mushrooms.
