The "edible town" of Andernach
“Help yourself” instead of “Keep off” is the motto
Vegetables are grown on public land, a permaculture garden serves as a meeting place, and wasteland is turned into bee pasture. Chickens, sheep and pigs complete the colourful picture.
The successful concept of the “edible town” started in 2010. Two years later, the TV programme “W wie Wissen” reported on the town in this feature.
Today Andernach is a unique model for edible towns. Interested visitors are warmly welcome there to benefit from many years of experience.
