We are invited!

We are invited!

The Friedensakademie Linz (Linz Peace Academy), led by Paul Ettl, has invited us to a joint event in cooperation with VHS Linz and the Bank für Gemeinwohl.

The event on “Bedingungsloses Grundeinkommen (BGE) – Zukunft oder Spinnerei?” (Unconditional basic income – future or fantasy?) takes place on 12 March 2018 at 7 pm in the Wissensturm Linz, Kärntner Str. 26 (right next to the main railway station). Admission is free.

Wissensturm Linz, copyright Generation GrundeinkommenIn Austria, 400,000 children are at risk of poverty or of being excluded for economic reasons (according to Statistics Austria 2015).

Net per capita income per month was €1,590 in 1995 and already €2,400 in 2015 (according to the WKO Statistical Yearbook 2017)! But are we any better off for it? What do you think about these facts?

We would like to talk with you and discuss further questions:

  • How can a basic income contribute to a fairer distribution of prosperity?
  • How can a basic income increase social security, and who benefits from it?
  • How are a basic income and each individual’s personal responsibility connected?
  • Is a basic income the right answer to the future challenges of the economy and the world of work?
  • How might a basic income affect families with children?
  • What opportunities does it offer the 50+ generation?

We, Generation Grundeinkommen (Generation Basic Income), warmly invite and encourage you to rethink our existing ways of living, and we would like to inspire you to develop new ideas about living together and to renew our individual life plans.

Let us find solutions together! It is about all of us! It affects all of us!

Who are we – who is Generation Grundeinkommen?

Generation Grundeinkommen is an association. It promotes the exchange of information on unconditional basic income with the aim of introducing it in Austria, Europe and worldwide.

Why are we doing this?

Because an unconditional basic income gives everyone more freedom to consciously shape a fulfilling life. And because, in our view, it is an important building block for a non-violent, caring and democratic society that respects ecological limits.
