By bike from Germany to Istanbul

This documentary is about Michael and his faithful companion Beefee.

Together they set off on a cargo bike from Germany to Istanbul in Turkey. For those of us who like to travel by bike, this format is sure to be interesting, because it gives you a small impression of what you may face, among other things, when you want to cross countries under your own steam, what you need for it, and how you come to terms with nature. For all of us, it is also like a small window onto what freedom lived out can look like.

Having had the chance to get to know Michael, I would say he is on his own personal Way of St James and is letting us share in an important stage of his life.

After the first leg, from Germany to Austria, he also faced his trial by fire, over hill and dale and right into the Vltava. But along the way he kept meeting people who encouraged him to keep going.
