Cry for help: is there a Christmas miracle for us?

Cry for help: is there a Christmas miracle for us?

My four children and I are currently in an acute financial emergency.

That is why I am taking the somewhat unusual step of sending a cry for help to the members of the association. Here, briefly, is my story of how it came to this:

After my first wife’s cancer and death, I sold my company for very little money, to take one big burden off my shoulders and to be there for my children. Now, several years later, the company has been closed by the authorities for reasons unknown to me. The person who bought and owned the company at the time can no longer be reached.

Unfortunately, the company still has an outstanding overdraft, and the guarantee for it is secured on our family home. The bank has now approached me and wants the outstanding amount repaid by 20 December. Otherwise it can have the house auctioned. That is an enormous burden so shortly before Christmas, because in that case several generations, from grandmother to grandchildren, would be out on the street.

Paying in instalments or taking out a bank loan is not possible, and our savings are not enough to pay the outstanding amount. So I have decided to borrow the missing money from friends and acquaintances. Many people have already been willing to help us. But we are still € 35,000 short.

That is why I am looking for people who can lend me money for the next three to five years. For organisational reasons, amounts of € 500 or more make sense. I can repay the borrowed money in one go in three to five years, as we plan to sell the house then. In addition, starting now, we will fill a “pot” with money every month. This is a safeguard in case anyone needs the money they have lent me before the three to five years are up. Of course, everyone who lends me money will receive a contract so that repayment is secured.

If anyone is able to provide a larger amount or the entire sum, an entry in the land register can be made as security. I could also pay some interest on it. And of course we are also grateful for smaller amounts in the form of donations.

Thank you for your help.
