E-Cat NGU 2025: production plans – and what can be seen of them in 2026

E-Cat NGU 2025: production plans – and what can be seen of them in 2026

NGU stands for “Never give up”. Under this name Andrea Rossi introduced the next generation of his generator in 2025. The NET-Journal devoted two major articles to it.

The technology according to Rossi

The theory has shifted considerably since 2011. Back then there was talk of a nickel-hydrogen nuclear reaction; Rossi now describes the SKLep-NGU as a device that works via an electron plasma: dense electron clusters, coupled to atomic nuclei, are said to draw energy from the zero-point field through a local polarisation of the vacuum. Rossi calls this “EDEN” (Entropy Decrease Energy NET). In the NET-Journal, Adolf Schneider compared the principle with older plasma inventions, for example by Nelson Lawrence from 2001, none of which reached series production.

The plans for 2025

  • Modules of 10 and 100 watts up to 1–10 kilowatts, plus container solutions in the megawatt range
  • Robot-based manufacturing in large quantities, still within 2025
  • Growing pre-orders and talks with production partners

Delivery of series-produced NGU devices in larger numbers is not independently documented in the 2025 volume.

The state in 2026

The evaluation of the NET-Journal ends with the 2025 volume. Our own research for this series found:

  • In May 2026 Leonardo announced megawatt industrial plants with self-sustaining operation, but at the same time temporarily suspended pre-orders because of changed product specifications.
  • Rossi’s US patent US9115913B1 (“Fluid heater”) is expected to remain in force until 2033. It describes the design of his reactor but does not prove the claimed energy balance.
  • Industrial Heat, Rossi’s former US partner, had stated in 2016 that after more than three years of its own work it could not substantiate the results.
  • We have found no independently confirmed series delivery.

Assessment

Fifteen years of the E-Cat in the NET-Journal show a recurring pattern: big announcements, demonstrations within the inventor’s own circle, postponements – and to this day no independent, complete measurement of input and output on a delivered device. That does not mean there is nothing to the observed effects; LENR research is a serious field. It does mean that purchasing decisions and investments here deserve particularly careful scrutiny.
