Scarcity is driving up fossil and nuclear energy prices
Anyone who still thinks natural gas will get cheaper again will soon be in for more nasty surprises
Russia, for example, has not been able to increase its natural gas production significantly over the last decade. But the demand for Russian natural gas has kept on rising.
With ever new pipelines, export capacities to south-eastern Europe and China, plus the two Nord Stream pipelines, have been increased considerably, but Russia still cannot deliver significantly more natural gas than its largely stagnating gas production yields.
No wonder that natural gas prices keep rising as demand increases further. Even if Nord Stream II went into operation, Russia could not fill the new pipeline with additionally produced natural gas without cutting exports to other countries. Natural gas prices will then rise here too.
Get out of oil, gas, coal and nuclear as quickly as possible, as “carrying on as before” is no longer economically viable.
Get into PV, solar thermal, wind and power storage – with biomass and hydropower as balancing energy – with energy self-sufficient businesses and energy self-sufficient municipalities, through a CITIZENS’ energy, mobility and agricultural transition based on 100% renewable energy, with energy autonomy, e-mobility, organic farming, humus building and a circular economy in all areas.
Agriculture and forestry are able to cover the entire energy demand from 100% renewable energy, in order to replace climate-damaging coal, natural gas, oil and nuclear energy cleanly for ever …
When will agriculture free itself from being held hostage by all fossil raw materials and use this fundamental opportunity for complete independence and the highest security of supply, which is moreover economically unbeatable …
The opportunity for all of us: energy autonomy is the lasting opportunity for a stable regional economy
For everyone interested, I have initiated “Vernetzung Energieautark” (energy self-sufficiency network), with help for self-help in many areas, including how anyone can quickly become energy self-sufficient – with PV, solar thermal, power storage, e-mobility, heat and electricity from the boiler, biomass, hydropower and much more. If you are interested, please get in touch.
High-calibre events on this on 11/12 February 2022
Annual conference of the Association of Bavarian Solar Initiatives
3rd Rosenheim Climate Spring
“Goal: climate neutrality – it’s in our hands” was the motto of the 29th annual conference of the Association of Bavarian Solar Initiatives (ABSI), which took place online on 11 and 12 February 2022.
After Schweinfurt last year, unfortunately this year was again digital only, but participation was free of charge. The local organisers from Rosenheim (TH Rosenheim, EZRO, Rosolar), together with partners from Baden-Württemberg (Solar-Cluster, Plattform Erneuerbare Energien) and ABSI, put together an interesting programme – and the event platform also offered opportunities for direct exchange: “Inform – network – act”, the subtitle of the event, was thus possible online too.
Exciting talks by more than 20 committed speakers (including Prof. Bruno Burger, Fraunhofer ISE; Hans-Josef Fell, Energy Watch Group; Cornelia Jacobsen, TUM; Prof. Jürgen Karl, FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg; Prof. Helga Kromp-Kolb, BOKU Vienna; Prof. Volker Quaschning, HTW Berlin; Maike Schmidt, ZSW; Prof. Michael Sterner, OTH Regensburg) explained why it is high time to become active in order to still prevent climate catastrophe, and presented examples and approaches intended as inspiration for your own activities. While the first day focused on science, the second day was about practical implementation.
