First ultra-fast charging station in the city of Bern
Charge electric cars in 10 minutes for a range of up to 150 kilometres.
With this, Bern has its first ultra-fast charging station for e-cars.
The municipal utility Energie Wasser Bern (ewb) is further expanding its public charging network (German) for electric vehicles. Not far from the Bern-Forsthaus motorway junction, e-cars can now charge enough electricity for up to 150 kilometres in just ten minutes at the city’s first ultra-fast charging station. The facility has all common connectors, so older models can also be charged there without an adapter.
The location at Murtenstrasse 100 is equally convenient for locals and travellers passing through, according to a press release (German). The canopy was developed in-house by Energie Wasser Bern. It can also be used flexibly at other locations and built in different sizes.
The planning and installation of the electrical connection of the charging site at the Forsthaus energy centre were carried out together with Bären Elektro AG. Like all charging stations operated by ewb, this one is connected to the national access system MOVE. Thanks to the partnership with the fast-charging network operator GOFAST, customers of the swisscharge.ch charging network also benefit from favourable terms, ewb writes. Charging can also be activated by credit card via smartphone.
