Take back your digital life – the ClearPHONE

What if you no longer left any digital traces anywhere in the world?

The ClearFOUNDATION has made this vision its goal for several years. HP has been shipping its servers with their pre-installed operating system for years. Now mobile phones are to follow. The idea behind it is interesting and the crowdfunding campaign is running; a few “super early bird phones” are still available.

Nowadays we leave our digital traces everywhere in the world. That is very interesting for the “operator” of the phone – but less so for the “user”, whose digital experience is peppered with countless pieces of information, most of them not very useful. That can be frustrating.

On Kickstarter, a company is now trying to do things differently.

Its “ClearPHONE” is meant to put an end to this development and make users the owners of their data again. Data is reduced to the content of the original website, in other words filtered – and thus displayed “CLEAR”, that is, cleaned up. Unwanted advertising or spyware has no place there – that is what the ambitious team of developers offers in numerous ClearCENTERs around the world, all of which stand behind the new phone. We met Michael Proper, the founder of the foundation, in person at the centre in Utah in the autumn of last year. We got to know him and his team as down-to-earth and family-oriented.

Anyone who understands some English will have no trouble following the content of the crowdfunding campaign – and otherwise the pictures alone are promising. Perhaps the phone is too. I would expect so. For it is high time to concentrate on what really matters again.
