The greatest myth of our time

The greatest myth of our time

The education system is supposed to be true evolutionary progress.

After all, the loving, tolerant and democratic society of tomorrow is supposedly being created in our school buildings. But how can it be that the educated Western “community of values” is calling again for exclusion, coercion and war?

This film is a moving and urgent plea that clearly shows the cause of global ills and at the same time presents a way out of them. But the cause lies above all where most people least want to admit it: it is the tradition of modern society to remove its own offspring from the loving protection of the family at the earliest age and to “socialise” them “for the good of the child” in so-called educational institutions.

What takes place here is a separation. Day by day, bit by bit, young people are separated not only from their own parents and from the real life of the public, but also from their own selves. The eternal cycle of separation produces a society that knows nothing other than living in separateness. The current world events are therefore merely a logical, constantly recurring consequence of the myth of the progress of the modern education system.

Contrary to the common idea that young people without school would only be lazy and uninterested, joy, curiosity and zest for life simply bubble out of Marie-Helen. She is living proof that there is another way – a happy and fulfilled life – entirely without school.

Our education system has never produced educated, let alone democratic, citizens. Never.
