With new momentum to the general meeting

With new momentum to the general meeting

Parliament has rejected the basic income citizens’ initiative.

Since the basic income (BGE) citizens’ initiative was clearly rejected by experts (men only) in parliament’s social affairs committee, we at GG are clear about one thing: far too few people still understand the basic income as a valid solution to current problems; they consider it a “wish list” without substance.

We see it as necessary to convey the message more concretely and with more professionalism than before.

How is this to happen?

This task has been taken on by the new leadership circle of GG, consisting of Helmo Pape, Victoria Caic, Harald Schmidt and, recently, also Manuel Blum, Josef Bartmann, Markus Wintera, Andreas Lechner, Thomas Hermann, Michael Kainz, Marcel Schwarz, Patrick Pröll and Pepe Lesjak.

As committed basic income fans, we want to expand the association’s initiatives and also offer more opportunities for participation than before.

To this end, in two months we will present ourselves as the new leadership circle, together with our positions and concrete plans. We hope to inspire many of you for the new project ideas.

We have put on the GG cap and are preparing everything for you, so save the date now:

On Wednesday, 8 February 2023, live from 5:30 pm at the Rudolf Steiner School in Vienna’s 23rd district, the new leadership circle invites you to the general meeting

The question of how we balance the social, the economic and the environment as the foundations of our lives remains important. The basic income offers important approaches to solutions that still lie outside what is politically feasible. Our greatest wish is to begin these solutions with a fruitful debate. Perhaps the reading in the National Council will provide an important starting signal for this. We will work towards it.

Generation Grundeinkommen wishes you happy holidays and a good start to the new year
