"You've got some nerve!"
Our crowdfunding campaign is off the starting blocks. “You’ve got some nerve!” was one of many reactions.
“500,000 euros is a lot of money.” Admittedly, the sum is high. We are taking a risk. We can win or lose. But a person who takes no risks, who is sure of their cause, cannot gain anything. They change nothing. They remain stuck in the old ways – until others act for them…
The Swiss basic income initiative took a risk when it called a referendum in 2016. They suspected that it would end in defeat at the ballot box. They won all the same: they did pioneering work.
We want to continue this pioneering work together with you. We are taking a risk. That is the spirit of the unconditional basic income. That is what the 500,000 euros stand for – the amount needed to get as far as a citizens’ initiative (Volksbegehren). Who else dares?
