School of the future with Matthias Langwasser
Ricardo Leppe is delighted that he can finally talk with Matthias Langwasser
“We’ve been waiting for this for so long. He has interviewed me twice before, including once with Gerald Hüther, and finally we were able to turn it around. It took us – I think – over a year, and I’m delighted that it has finally worked out.”

Who is Matthias Langwasser?
“It is a heartfelt concern of Matthias Langwasser to contribute with all his possibilities to making our planet a better place for all of us.” That is how he describes it on his website (German). Since childhood he has had the vision of a happy, healthy and peaceful life in harmony with nature – for all people.
His heartfelt wish is that more and more people recognise how everything is connected, and that we should therefore act together rather than against each other. Since his youth he has lived with love and mindfulness towards all living beings, with the aim of respecting, protecting and healing our Mother Earth.
Unfortunately, most people still feel separated from our Earth, even though it carries us and provides us with everything we need to live. For this reason he searched intensively for what his personal gift to the world is, in order to create a new consciousness in our society. Opinions about “normal” career paths and ideas of a “sensible” path in life have never interested him much. That is why he decided to become an artist of life. Instead of squeezing himself into the structures of regulated vocational training, he listened to his heart early on and looked for his own teachers – and found them in life and in nature.
For two years he lived in the wilderness and fed himself on what he gathered there. Later he grew his own fruit and vegetables and lived for seven years as a self-sufficient person in the forest on a site that he managed according to the principles of permaculture (sustainable agriculture). Healthy, natural food combined with sensual pleasure is also one of his passions. He shared this passion for seventeen years as a vegan travelling seminar cook and recorded it in his vegan cookbook “Vegane Kochkunst” (The art of vegan cooking).
