Neutrinovoltaics: energy as the key to peace
Whoever controls energy controls nations
In view of global change, questions of peace on Earth have taken on special significance. That is why the meeting of the participants of the World Public Assembly under the motto “A new world of conscious coexistence”, held on 20–21 September 2025 at the WTC congress centre, was particularly topical. More than 4,000 participants from 150 countries came together in 40 thematic forums, some of them digital, and 7 panel sessions. The discussion focused on questions of war and peace: what causes conflicts, and how can peace be achieved together?
Securing energy and food will be solved by technological means, not by conquering resources […] For resources are the cause of many conflicts, especially energy
Mikhail Krasnov, Chairman of the Board, IAO
Peace is destroyed not only by weapons, but also by hunger, poverty and injustice […] All too often it is underestimated that dependence on energy and raw materials triggers conflicts. History shows: countless wars have been fought over oil, gas, water and rare minerals. “Whoever controls energy controls nations. As long as this dependence exists, peace remains fragile”
Holger Thorsten Schubart, Neutrino Energy Group
The struggle for peace must be expressed not only in words but above all in deeds. Under his leadership, scientists are making history in the development of fossil-free energy technologies that give every person anywhere on Earth reliable access to electricity – without power lines, without burning fossil fuels.
“Every person on Earth must have access to clean, independent and renewable energy – from Europe to communities in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Humanity has often fought over energy – in wars, conflicts and dependencies. But peace only arises when energy is no longer limited, contested or monopolised. We are on the threshold of a scientific and technological breakthrough. We have shown that the invisible particles of the universe that pass through us – neutrinos and other types of radiation – are not just scientific riddles, but a source of new freedom.
With the help of graphene and silicon we have built a bridge: tiny impulses from these particles set atoms vibrating, which produces micro-currents. These currents are collected and amplified by our special layered structures. This is how energy is created – clean, quiet, decentralised. 200,000 Neutrino® Power Cubes could replace a nuclear power plant. Millions of such devices can supply entire continents – without fuel, without waste, without weapons.
This is not just technology. It is a foundation for a more peaceful world. More than a technical innovation – it is an act of peace. For peace means not only the absence of war, but the existence of opportunities – for education, health, a dignified life and a life without fear. Science can offer solutions, politics can create frameworks, business can implement projects. But only when all three forces work together does possibility become reality,” says Schubart.
The concept of neutrino power is attracting growing interest in science because it is an environmentally friendly and almost inexhaustible energy carrier. Unlike fossil fuels or nuclear energy, neutrino energy causes no waste or environmental problems. The central idea lies in developing materials in which these particles trigger micro-vibrations in graphene and convert them into electric current. And that is exactly what the scientists led by the Neutrino® Energy Group are achieving.
Full speech at the World Public Summit:
Excellencies, esteemed colleagues, ladies and gentlemen,
It is a great honour for me to speak to you today – at a conference dedicated to humanity’s most precious asset: peace.
Peace is not a state that is achieved once and secured forever. Peace is a daily decision. It is like the invisible air we breathe: we only begin to grasp its value when it disappears.
The great philosopher Immanuel Kant wrote: “Perpetual peace is no empty idea, but a task that must be fulfilled step by step.” Today, in times of global crises, these words sound particularly topical.
We live in an era of unprecedented interconnection, and yet we are confronted with wars, mistrust, polarisation and growing inequality. Peace is destroyed not only by weapons, but also by hunger, poverty and injustice. An often underestimated cause of conflict lies in dependence on energy and resources. History teaches us: countless wars have been fought over oil, gas, water, rare minerals. Whoever controls energy controls nations. As long as this dependence exists, peace remains fragile.
We are on the threshold of change. Science and technology give us the chance to free ourselves from the cycle of dependence and conflict. Imagine a world in which energy no longer depends on geography. It is all around us. Our task is to use this energy and do without fossil fuels. That can considerably reduce tensions in the world.
Every person on Earth should have access to clean, independent and renewable energy. This applies to everyone: from people in Europe to communities in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
Humanity has often fought over energy: in wars, in conflicts, in dependencies. But peace only arises when energy is no longer limited, fought over or monopolised. And we are on the threshold of achieving this scientific and technological breakthrough. We have shown that the invisible particles of the universe – neutrinos and other types of radiation that pass through us every second – are not just a scientific riddle, but the source of a new freedom.
With graphene and silicon we have built a bridge: tiny impulses from these particles make atoms vibrate, generating micro-currents that are collected and amplified by our special layered structures. This is how energy is created – clean, quiet, decentralised.
200,000 PowerCubes replace a nuclear power plant. Millions of such devices can supply entire continents with energy – without fuel, without waste, without weapons.
This is not just technology. It is the basis for a more peaceful world. It will be more than a technical innovation. It will be an act of peace.
For peace is not just the absence of war. Peace means the presence of opportunities – for education, health, a dignified life, a life without fear. “If we hold the energy of the stars in our hands, we can also carry the peace in our hearts out into the world.”
As a mathematician I know: even the most difficult problems can be solved step by step if you break them down into elements.
As an entrepreneur I have learned: visions alone are not enough – they are only valuable if they can be turned into concrete projects.
And as a human being I am convinced: peace cannot be delegated – neither to politicians nor to institutions. Peace is a shared responsibility.
Science can propose solutions. Politics can create the framework. Business can implement projects.
But only when all three forces act together does possibility become reality.
Ladies and gentlemen, a great task lies before us: we must shape peace in such a way that it is no longer a fragile state, but a solid foundation.
I firmly believe: peace is like energy. It is invisible, but it has enormous power. It can tear down walls and open up horizons. But only if we do not take it for granted, but actively create, protect and pass it on.
Let us build bridges – between peoples, between generations, between humans and nature.
In the end, the fate of peace depends not only on the powerful of this world, but on all of us.
Thank you very much. Holger Thorsten Schubart, CEO Neutrino Energy Group
