Neutrinovoltaics: energy from confirmed physics

Measurement data enable new energy technology

For a long time, the idea of obtaining usable energy from the motion of neutrinos belonged to the world of theoretical models. But this picture has changed, because hypotheses have become measurable reality. From Super-Kamiokande to JUNO, from IceCube to Oak Ridge, a global chain of evidence has emerged showing that neutrinos themselves interact, transfer momentum and have mass – and thus form a physically sound basis for obtaining energy from their constant, invisible flow.

At the centre of this development is the master equation formulated by the Neutrino Energy Group, which brings physics and materials science together. The equation

P ( t ) = η ∫ V Φ a m b ( r , t )   σ e f f ( E )   d V

is not a theoretical wish-construct but a reflection of really measured quantities. η describes the efficiency of the nano-junctions, Φ_eff the effective ambient flux density, σ_eff the material interaction. In a layered composite of graphene and doped silicon, this becomes continuous electric current.

The Neutrino Energy Group sums it up concisely: “The physics was never the question, only the perspective.” Today, every single prerequisite of neutrinovoltaics has been independently confirmed – by institutions whose measurement methods are part of the foundation of modern particle physics.

Measurements as the foundation

The first big step was the detection of coherent elastic neutrino–nucleus scattering (CEνNS). COHERENT at Oak Ridge, later CONUS+ (2025), showed directly for the first time that neutrinos transfer measurable momentum to atomic nuclei. The central mechanism of neutrinovoltaics is thus experimentally proven.

Super-Kamiokande and the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory furthermore demonstrated that neutrinos have mass – a result honoured with the Nobel Prize in 2015. Mass means energy potential and the ability to transfer momentum. This fulfils the basic physical prerequisite for a material to be able to react to the cosmic particle flux.

At the same time, experiments such as JUNO in China refined the spectral and spatial structure of Φ_eff, while IceCube and KM3NeT mapped the high-energy components of cosmic radiation. The result: the flux is constant, omnipresent and independent of time of day or weather.

Materials as translators

For Φ_eff actually to generate electricity, a medium is needed that not only reacts but can also direct the reaction. This role is taken on by the combination of graphene and silicon (Si:n).

As research by Max Planck, ETH Zurich, MIT and Manchester shows, graphene exhibits highly precise coupling of phonons and electrons. External micro-excitations lead to ordered vibrations that make charge separation possible. In combination with doped silicon, an asymmetric, non-linearly operating nano-junction system is created. Caltech, Georgia Tech and KIMS have confirmed that such structures generate real voltage under continuous micro-vibration. This is exactly where the experimental value of η arises.

Neutrinovoltaics: a system of many sources

Neutrinovoltaics does not use a single source; rather, the term denotes the superposition of various interactions of neutrinos, muons, secondary cosmic particles, electromagnetic fields and thermal and mechanical vibrations. Among other things, this diversity explains its ability to function constantly 24/7. For if one contribution drops off, the others compensate.

From the laboratory to industry

Industrial implementation requires precise manufacturing: CVD graphene layers, precisely defined doping, stable field distributions. The Neutrino® Energy Group has translated these requirements into a ready-to-use system. The Neutrino® Power Cube delivers continuous energy, scalable up to industrial networks. The Life Cube, the Pi mobility platform and projects such as 12742 or NET8 show how widely the technology can be applied – from energy to mobility to communication.

A globally confirmed system

Every component of the master equation has been measured independently: from momentum transfer to flux data to material response and nano-rectification. Neutrinovoltaics is thus not in the realm of speculation but of verified physics.

Conclusion: independence through understanding

Neutrinovoltaics does not change the laws of nature – it uses what has always been there. Its strength lies in its independence from weather, daylight and geopolitical resources. For a future that needs freedom and resilience, it offers exactly that: energy from the permanent motion of the universe. A quiet, reliable basis for technological and social independence.
